Russell Adrian, Interim Director

Russell Adrian is joining the The Summer Singers as interim Artistic Director for their 2013 season.  He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting at the University of Minnesota where he conducts the Mosaic Women’s Chorus and studies with Prof. Kathy Saltzman Romey and Dr. Matthew Mehaffey.  He serves as the Artistic Director of the South Metro Chorale and is active in the music ministry at Emanuel Mennonite Church.

Prior to moving to Minneapolis, Russell completed his Master’s degree in Choral Conducting at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with Prof. Beverly Taylor and Dr. Bruce Gladstone.  His undergraduate degrees are in Piano Performance and Mathematics from Bethel College in Kansas after which he was the music director at Western Mennonite School in Salem, Oregon for five years.  He and his wife Camille are both originally from Minnesota and are happy to be back in their home state raising their one-year-old daughter Hannah.

 

The Summer Singers is led by a volunteer board.
